On November 14th, H.E. Kinteh Masanneh Nyuku, Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia to China, along with Tan Sri Dr. Yuhao, Ambassador-at-Large to Southeast Asia and Chairman of the Gambia-China Friendship Association, visited Great Power for discussions on energy storage cooperation. The meeting included in-depth conversations about the energy storage market in The Gambia and preliminary agreements for collaboration.

H.E. Kinteh Masanneh Nyuku provided a comprehensive overview of The Gambia’s geographical, natural, and economic context. He highlighted that The Gambia, an important nation along the Belt and Road Initiative in West Africa, boasts abundant solar resources. As the country transitions from an agricultural to an industrial economy, The Gambia has set ambitious goals: a 2025 energy roadmap, a 50% renewable energy target by 2030, and a 2050 climate vision. The Gambian government is keen to attract investments in grid development and renewable energy projects by offering incentives to enterprises in the clean energy sector.

During the visit, Yang Min, President of Great Power's Energy Storage Division, shared the company’s extensive expertise in energy storage, highlighting major projects and operational strategies. The Gambian delegation expressed high regard for Great Power’s commitment to safety as a core principle in energy storage system design. As a global leader in lithium battery technology, Great Power entered the energy storage industry in 2011 and has since implemented projects in over 50 countries. The company’s solutions span large-scale, residential, and commercial and industrial storage systems, with proven reliability in extreme environments.

The delegation expressed strong interest in Great Power's Ultra Max series storage container system, designed specifically for international markets. Guided by the "V-Model" design concept, Great Power ensures system safety and reliability across all components, including electrical principles, structural design, thermal management, and fire suppression. The Ultra Max system features an eight-layer fire protection mechanism, safeguarding key components like cells, PACKs, EMS, battery compartments, electrical cabins, and fire suppression pipelines. This comprehensive design guarantees user confidence and operational safety.

This visit provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue between Great Power and The Gambia. Both sides look forward to advancing partnerships in energy storage to support the Gambia's transition to a modern power system. By delivering safe, reliable energy storage solutions, Great Power aims to contribute to the region’s energy transformation under the Belt and Road Initiative, enabling broader access to clean, affordable, and stable energy.
